                                     Kids are our Life
Adam and I are licensed Group Family Daycare Providers, CPR and First Aid certified. We opened our first daycare in October of 2002. We both have cared for the children on a regular basis since we opened. In October of 2006, we decided to “branch out” and Adam opened his own daycare, Underbakke’s Little Tykes *Daddy* Daycare.
Why did we decide to open our homes up for childcare? We both absolutely adore children. From infants to teens, they are all unique and it is miraculous to watch children grow and learn new things, which we love to be a part of.
Our goal for our daycares is to provide a home away from home for all of the children. We want your children to feel at ease and comfortable when they are here, as if they are still at “home”. Knowing that your child will be cared for in a safe and loving environment should help you rest peacefully at night. We have taken many classes to further our early childhood education and we continue to take classes every chance we get to expand our knowledge on care for children. We both have lots of experience with children ages 6 weeks  +  .
How do you know we REALLY like working with kids? When the day is over and all the children have gone home, we find ourselves reflecting on the day we had with the kids and laughing and sharing stories on the funny things that happened. There isn’t a day that goes by where we aren’t thinking of the kids and smiling to ourselves. One thing you will learn about us as time goes on is that we love and appreciate your child almost as much as you do. We love their little quirks and funny ways and we always love to share stories with you about your child’s day. As parents ourselves, we understand that no detail, when it comes to your child, is too small.

                                           Our Family
Hi! We are Adam and  Erin Underbakke. We have been married for 5 years. We have a daughter, Meeah, who came home from Guatemala at almost 5 months old in December of 2004. We also have a son, Migel, who also came home from Guatemala at almost 6 months in April of 2006. Erin grew up in Peterson Minnesota and moved to Rochester in 1998. Adam has lived here his whole life. We both love to travel, read, and be outside!

A note from Adam....

   Yes I am a DAD.
   Yes I love doing daycare!
   Yes I talk baby talk
Yes I love to hold babies
   Yes I change poopy diapers
Yes I don't mind playing Dollies and Barbie’s
   And Yes I love kids!!

Why do I like to do daycare? A dad? I am guessing for the same reasons my wife loves it and for the same reasons all the thousands of other daycare providers love it: Because its fun! Kids are fun! All of them! Babies, toddlers, terrible 2’s, preschoolers, kindergarteners, school age kids, they are just fun and such characters and they know more about the little things then we adults EVER will! The goal for my daycare is to provide a home away from home for all of the kids. I want my daycare to be a place where kids come and feel comfortable and know that they are going to be well cared for  and safe all day when their mom and dad are working.

A note from Erin....

Kids have a very special place in both mine and Adams hearts.
My whole family is very kid oriented. Kids are everywhere and everything was always done for the kids! So its no wonder that I love daycare!  I have 8 brothers and sisters. Four are younger than me and I took care of them all of the time. I loved to babysit when I was younger. I had 2 main families that I babysat for almost every weekend. My favorite books when I was young were the "Baby Sitters Club" Series. I read hundreds of them! I remember thinking that I wanted to be just like them and have my own Baby Sitters Club! My goal for my daycare is to provide a home away from home for all of the children as well as a Christian and learning environment. I want the kids to walk through my door and know they are going to have a fun day even though they can't be with mom and dad.
